On Saturday we went to Tarragona, a city located in the south of Catalonia.
We had a chance to walk through ancient ruins of the Roman Empire.
The 2nd century amphitheater, near the sea-shore, was extensively used as a quarry after the fall of the Empire. The stones were used for the construction of the cathedral of Tarragona, in a half Romanesque and early Gothic style.
