The highlight of the weekend was undoubtedly Sunday when we went to Monaco. Most of the program went to the Musée Oceanographic, a museum sitting on the edge of a cliff in the old part of Monaco. Here is a picture of some of us enjoying the view from the rooftop of the museum.
After having lunch next to the palace, we took the bus to Èze and went to the Parfumerie Fragonard, where we got a tour of the factory, then spent too much money on perfumes and soaps for our families (and ourselves). Then we had some free time in Èze, a beautiful little village perched on the top of a small mountain, full of little shops and cafés.
That night we had Niçoise salad on the beach and watched the World cup final in the town of Cagnes-Sur-Mer, which is right next to
St. Laurent. We showed our spirit by painting Argentinian or German flags on our cheeks. After and during the match there was a fireworks show.
On Monday classes were canceled because of Bastille Day, so many people celebrated the french holiday with their families, either on the beach or at home. That night, most of the group got together to watch the Bastille Day fireworks by the beach. It was a long weekend full of fireworks and fun.
